Man, 38, Arrested Carrying Fully Loaded Rifle With Sawed-Off Stock

Barrington man charged after attempting to break into a Lamson Road home.

A Hampden Meadows man, 38, faces several Barrington police charges, including carrying a fully loaded 30-30 rifle without a stock.

Jarrad W. Marshall, with a last known address of 61 Lamson Road, was arrested last Monday, Sept. 16, about 1:50 pm after attempting to break into that home. The homeowner, confined to a wheelchair, contacted the police.

Several patrol officers responded, according to Barrington Police Chief John LaCross. Marshall was arrested before getting back into the house.

Police officers found Marshall with the fully loaded weapon, which resembled a sawed-off shotgun, and several illegal drugs, including crack cocaine, marijuana and other pills, said LaCross. 

Marshall was charged with larceny over $1,500, possession of the illegal drugs, domestic disorderly conduct, theft of the firearm, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and willful trespassing, LaCross said.

Police officers transported Marshall to the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) after he was arraigned on the charges.
