Monday Essentials: Play-Writing Starts; Get Car Washed; Class of '63 Reunion

Here are some things you should know about this week, Sept. 2-8, in and around Barrington: 

  • Scattered thunderstorms will end Tuesday, Sept. 3, and sunshine will take over for the rest of the week with temperatures in the mid to high 70s.
  • The Barrington Public Library presents “Cooking Up a Play: A Recipe for Beginners,” a free three-week play-writing workshop on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Register online at http://goo.gl/bI9BKa to reserve your seat or call the Reference Desk at 401-247-1920 x 2.
  • The St. Luke's Church 2014 Jamaica Youth Missionaries are hosting a car wash on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 am to 1 pm at Center ACE Hardware on County Road.  Donations accepted.
  • The Barrington United Methodist Church, 230 Washington Road, hosts a Rally Sunday on Sept. 7 starting at the 9 am worship service; members of the church are invited to bring friends.
  • The Class of 1963 at Barrington High School holds its gala 50th reunion this weekend, Sept. 6-8, with events each day starting at the Wharf Tavern on Friday evening and continuing at the Rhode Island Country Club on Saturday evening.
