• Barrington neighbor cries fowl over duck hunters in marsh (eastbayri.com) — A Barrington resident twice called police last week about duck hunters in the Mussachuck Beach marsh, worried they were damaging protected land. Officers found the hunters were in an allowed spot and made no arrests, but emphasized that duck hunting is only permitted in certain Barrington areas and never within 500 feet of a home. 
• Discover Newport seeks resident input on tourism through new survey (whatsupnewp.com) — Barrington residents are being asked to share their views on local tourism in a new Discover Newport Resident Sentiment Survey that will shape future regional tourism plans. Locals from Barrington and neighboring East Bay communities can complete the online questionnaire and be entered to win a $100 restaurant gift card, giving them a direct voice in how visitor activity affects their quality of life and economy.
