Central Falls Woman Charged With Faking Found Child Report

Daniela Peraza Lemus was charged with filing a false repart after she told police she found a small boy alone in Pawtucket.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Central Falls woman is facing charges after she falsely claimed to have found a small child alone in Pawtucket on Sunday. Daniela Peraza Lemus, 22, was charged with filing a false police report and held overnight pending arraignment on Monday.

Lemus called Pawtucket police around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, saying she saw a small boy, alone, while taking an Uber home. He was taken to Hasbro to be checked out, then released to the custody of the Department of Children, Youth and Families.

About 12 hours later, police said they had found the child's parents, and that Lemus's initial police report was false. No further details were provided by police.
