Cranston Man Found Dead Inside Apartment

Cranston police say the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday afternoon.

CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Around 1:12 p.m. police were called to a home on Pontiac Avenue about a suicidal man who had a gun. Police said officers formed a perimeter and alerted neighboring residents.

Attempts to contact the man were not successful, Cranston police said. Around 4 p.m. officers entered the second-floor apartment and found a 44-year-old man dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
