Cranston Parking Ban Begins Friday Morning

City officials wasted no time in declaring a parking ban in advance of the snowstorm that will arrive Thursday night.

CRANSTON, RI—City officials are expecting a snowy mess on the roads beginning late Thursday into the Friday morning commute.

Wasting no time, the city has declared a parking ban, which goes into effect Friday morning at 7 a.m.

Crews will be out sanding the roads at around 3 a.m. and plow trucks will be dispatched afterwards as needed, city officials said.

Jeffrey Barone, director of constituent affairs, asked residents to be mindful of the ban and to stay off the roads if possible.

“[The] last event went off without any problems,” he said. “All city roads will be addressed. We ask that you be patient and only go out if absolutely necessary.”
