Cranston Woman Wins $100,000 Playing Powerball
The woman doubled her $50,000 win by using the PowerPlay feature and will use the money to pay off accumulated expenses.

CRANSTON, RI—A Cranston woman claimed a $100,000 winning Powerball ticket from Saturday night’s drawing, according to officials with the Rhode Island Lottery Commission.
The woman, who asked to not be identified, used the PowerPlay feature to double her $50,000 winning ticket, the commission said in a news release.
“The numbers that she played represent her family members’ birthdates. She said she experienced a streak of bad luck last winter, including a fall which restricted her from working for a period of time. Therefore, she plans to use the majority of the money won to pay off accumulated expenses,” the release stated.
