Economy Better, but Adopt-a-Family Program in Cranston Still Essential

The holiday Adopt-a-Family sponsored by Comprehensive Community Action Program in Cranston helps hundreds of families every year.

Though the economy has improved and upper middle class and wealthy families are watching their fortunes soar, the plight of the poor and people working starvation minimum wage are still unable to meet basic needs.

Families living in poverty worry about keeping the heat on, let alone stuffing the underside of a Christmas tree with presents, so the annual Adopt-a-Family program sponsored by Comprehensive Community Action Program in Cranston remains a difference-maker for hundreds of local families.

“Although reports say that the economy has improved, we are still seeing very fragile communities, and our families continue to struggle,” a CCAP release stated.
