Killer Pleads Guilty To Krystal Boswell's Murder

James Lombardi, of Cranston, admitted he murdered Krystal Boswell and then buried her body at a house where he was doing construction.

CRANSTON, RI— James Lombardi will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing Krystal Boswell, the state Attorney General's office said Wednesday. Boswell, 29, of Fall River, Mass., died last April after a date with Lombardi. They quarreled; he hit her in the head and strangled her. Police ultimately found her body where Lombardi, 33, buried her, almost six feet down in a yard behind a vacant house where he was doing construction. Her mother had reported her missing and told police he was the last person with her. An anonymous tip led detectives to the yard on Preston Avenue.

He waived indictment and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Justice Luis Matos on Wednesday. Lombardi was sentenced to life in prison, plus two years as a habitual offender.
