Police Searching for Woman who Robbed Bank

Police in Cranston said the suspect robbed a Santander Bank on Tuesday morning and fled with about $10,000.

CRANSTON, RI—Police are on the lookout for a female bank robber.

Cranston police said a woman robbed the Santander Bank at 555 Reservoir Ave. at around 10:09 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect handed a note to a teller indicating that “it was a bank robbery, and to give her the money,” according to a Cranston police news release.

The suspect is described as white and standing about 5-feet tall with a thin build. She was wearing a black knit cap with a brim, a waist-length two-tone gray or blue coat with stars on the sleeves and shoulders. She was also wearing pink pants and black Ugg boots.

Police said the suspect fled with about $10,000 cash toward the rear of the bank.

Nobody was injured during the robbery and police did not indicate if any weapon was shown.

Police released images of the suspect and asked if anyone can identify her to call police at 401-942-2211.
