RI Coronavirus Hospitalizations Down For 3rd Day, 203 New Cases
There were 18 reported deaths in the state on Saturday.
Rhode Island's Department of Health reported a decline in coronavirus hospitalizations for the third day in a row on Saturday. There were 233 hospitalizations in the state related to COVID-19, down from 242 on Friday. The DOH reported 18 deaths and 203 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
The total number of deaths in the state is up to 597 and a total number of cases of 13,952. Over 1,000 COVID-19 patients in Rhode Island have been discharged from hospitals, according to the DOH. As of Saturday, 51 people were in the intensive care unit and 34 were on ventilators.
The state has tested 130,132 people so far.

The decline in cases comes as Rhode Island's salons, gyms, beaches and other businesses are expected to be allowed to reopen in the coming weeks. On Friday, Gov. Gina Raimondo announced that she expects to enter phase 2 of reopening starting June 1.
