Thurbers Avenue Crash Slows I-95 North To A Crawl

The crash at the Thurbers Avenue curve closed two lanes and backed up traffic into Cranston.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A crash on Interstate 95 North slowed traffic to a crawl heading into Providence Thursday afternoon.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reported the crash just before noon at Exit 18, where the highway curves at Thurbers Avenue. The crash closed the two right lanes, along with the shoulder.

A Google traffic map showed heavy backups along I-95 North stretching back through Cranston towards the Warwick line.
