Undercover RI State Trooper Catches Man Trying To Meet Teen For Sex: Attorney General
Prosecutors say Cesar Garcia, 45, tried to get what he thought was a 14-year-old girl to meet him in Warwick for sex acts.
WARWICK, RI — A Warwick man is facing charges after undercover officers posing as a 14-year-old girl caught him trying to meet for sex acts, Attorney General Peter Neronha said Friday.
Cesar Garcia, 45, as charged in Kent County Superior Court on May 8 with solicitation of a minor or someone believed to be a minor and electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor or someone believed to be a minor.
In November 2023, Rhode Island State Police detectives conducted an online undercover investigation and posed as a 14-year-old girl. Prosecutors said Garcia contacted investigators, believing they were a teen girl, with invitations for sexual conduct and adult pornography.

On Nov. 7, 2023, state police arrested Garcia when he arrived at a predetermined location in Warwick to meet the "girl," prosecutors said.
Garcia is scheduled to be arraigned May 24 in Kent County Superior Court.
