Boy Finds Syringes Inside Flashlight in East Greenwich Woods
Police said it's not clear how long the flashlight was in the woods along the Frenchtown Park hiking trail before the boy found it April 10.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—A boy walking through the woods on the Frenchtown Park hiking trail found four syringes inside a flashlight he discovered on a rock, police said.
The boy discovered the flashlight on April 10 at around 2:30 p.m., according to a police report.
The boy reportedly discovered the flashlight near Tillinghast Road and found four needles inside when he opened it. The mother said her son "partially pulled out one of the needles which had a cap on it and immediately brought it inside."

Police said there was nobody on the trail nearby when the flashlight was found and no cars were parked on Tillinghast near the end of the trail. It is not clear how long the flashlight was sitting next to the trail.
Police took custody of the flashlight as evidence.
