Chafee Says He Will Not Challenge Whitehouse For Senate Seat
The former Rhode Island governor and U.S. Senator said this morning he is not running for the U.S. Senate.

EAST GREENWICH, RI — Lincoln Chafee has decided not to run for U.S. Senate or any other office in 2018, he announced in a tweet Tuesday morning. The former Rhode Island governor and U.S. Senator had indicated in April he was considering a run against Democrat incumbent Sheldon Whitehouse. Republicans Robert Nardolillo, a state representative from Coventry, and Robert Flanders are running.
