The Cole Middle School graduating class of 2013 ended their middle school career has they lived it, cheering on those who sometimes are left behind.

EG's Dorsey Named Little East's Track Athlete of the Year

Rhode Island College freshman Jaimee Dorsey of East Greenwich was named the 2013 Little East Conference Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, as well as the league’s Rookie of the Year. 

Today on Patch: New Features And A New Look

First of all, we think the site looks livelier, and more like East Greenwich. See that big photo on the top of the site? That’s downtown East Greenwich (as seen from across Greenwich Cove at Goddard Park, of course!).

Police Log: Running, Hitting, Shoplifting

According to an employee of the store, Williams had been acting suspiciously and a review of the surveillance video showed her putting a handbag inside her own purse and leaving the store. The employee called Williams and told her what she saw on the video, at which point Williams admitted taking the purse, according to the report. 

New Special Ed Director Hired

Ten months after the job became vacant, the School Committee approved the hire of Bradley Wilson as the department's new director of student services, specifically handling special education students. He had been the assistant special ed director for Warwick public schools. 

Feds Investigate Missing EG Mail

The U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General is investigating reports of mail dumping by a letter carrier, according to a spokesman. Residents and at least one business owner said the problems began in early June.

EGHS ’13 Grad To Head To Oman In September

Some people are just more adventurous than the rest of us. Take Lydia Sanchez. The recent EGHS graduate spent her sophomore year in Argentina as an exchange student. At age 15. Her reason? She knew living in a Spanish-speaking country was the only way to really learn Spanish. Which she did. Now she has set her sights on learning Arabic.
