Feroce Missed Court Date, Will Satisfy Court's Request: Lawyer
Giovanni Feroce missed a court date May 1 because he was traveling out of state, his campaign lawyer said. He will cooperate.

PROVIDENCE, RI—Republican gubernatorial candidate Giovanni Feroce missed a date in Providence District Court on Tuesday. According to the Providence Journal, the judge ordered a civil arrest because he failed to appear. But Feroce's campaign lawyer, Cindy E. Burke, says her client will cooperate.
"Mr. Feroce was out of state on business, but has every intention of fulfilling the court’s wishes," she said.
The case is a civil suit. Feroce was sued by Broder Brothers, which manufactures clothing, for about $7,200, according to the Judicial Portal. But there was a confusion because the clothing had been purchased for Benrus, the company Feroce was running, Burke said. It was not a personal debt, but the lawsuit named him, and not the company.

"As with other Benrus matters, Mr. Feroce believed this was just another item under the receiver's purview," Burke said. "This suit is for manufactured shirt products produced for the company. Subsequently, this matter only names Mr. Feroce, and therefore he will address it and take care of it now that he has been made aware of how it reads."
Burke said she will update Patch in the next couple of days to say how the matter was resolved.
