RI State Police: Two Wrong-Way Drivers Crash

The arrests were made Saturday and overnight Saturday into Sunday, state police said.

EAST GREENWICH, RI—State police arrested two wrong-way drivers involved in separate crashes and collared a third drunk driver. The accidents and arrests started on Saturday night. No one was seriously injured in either crash.

The first accident happened on Route 4 in East Greenwich around 7:20 p.m. Corey Scott Miller, 28, of Pawtucket, was driving north in the high-speed southbound lane when he crashed into a car traveling south, police allege. He was charged with Driving under the influence, first offense; Driving to endanger, resulting in physical injury and was cited for Refusal to submit to a chemical test. Miller was treated at Kent County Hospital for "minor injuries," police said. The driver and passenger in the car he hit went to South County Hospital, where they were treated and released.

The second crash happened at 2 a.m. on Interstate 95 in Warwick. Other drivers called 911 to report a car going the wrong way in the northbound lanes. That driver sideswiped another car and then crashed in the high speed lane near Jefferson Boulevard. Cameron Wambolt, 25, of West Warwick, was charged with Driving under the influence; Driving to endanger, resulting in physical injury. He was not hurt. Two people in the car he hit went to Rhode Island Hospital, were treated and released.

A third alleged drunk driver was arrested. Tommy Price, 43, of Charlestown, stopped on Interstate 95 in Warwick. He was charged with Driving under the influence, first offense; and was cited for Refusal to submit to a chemical test.
