1,300 Lose Power In East Providence After Truck Hits Utility Pole
Police asked motorists to avoid Taunton Avenue near Burger King, East Providence Medical Center and Shaw's Market.

EAST PROVIDENCE, MA — Parts of East Providence are without power Tuesday after a tractor trailer hit a utility pole on Taunton Avenue, according to police.
The crash left more than 1,300 customers without power, according to National Grid. National Grid estimated power will be restored by 5:45 p.m., Tuesday.
Police asked motorists to avoid Taunton Avenue near Burger King, East Providence Medical Center and Shaw's Market.
