East Providence, Pawtucket Men Caught With 1,400 Grams Of Cocaine, Other Drugs: RISP

Rhode Island State Police say they seized more than 1,400 grams of cocaine, crack, fentanyl, and cannabis as well as guns from two suspects.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — Two Rhode Island men arrested Thursday face numerous drug and gun charges after Rhode Island State Police said they seized more than 1,400 grams of cocaine, crack, fentanyl, and cannabis.

State police and the DEA Providence Office were investigating Odell Lora, 31, of East Providence, and Kevon Lassiter, 31, of Pawtucket. Authorities requested several search warrants in Pawtucket, East Providence, and Scituate.

As a result of those searches, state police said they seized:

  • 672 grams of cocaine
  • 60 grams of crack cocaine
  • 416 grams of fentanyl
  • 262 grams of marijuana
  • $50,900 in cash
  • One stolen Smith and Wesson loaded revolver
  • One Glock pistol
  • One 16-round large-capacity magazine with ammunition
  • One 29-round large-capacity magazine with ammunition
  • Three vehicles
  • Scale and drug sale packaging materials.

Both men were charged with possession of crack cocaine, cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm by certain persons prohibited, possession of a firearm when committing a controlled substance violation, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, possession of a stolen firearm and conspiracy to violate Uniform Controlled Substance Act.

At the time of his arrest, state police said Lassiter was on probation from previous narcotics distribution and firearms offenses.

Both Lassiter and Lora were arraigned at Sixth Division District Court and, after their appearance, were held without bail pending further court dates.
