Alfred Estrella, 87, Farmer, Construction Worker

Alfred Estrella, of East Providence, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. He was 87.

Born August 13, 1926 in Rehoboth, Mass., he was a son of the late Antonio R. and Sadie (Florian) Estrella. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Angelina M. (Costa) Estrella, a son Arthur Estrella and grandchildren, Kevin and Christine Estrella.

He is survived by two sons, Alfred Estrella and John Estrella, and his wife Carol of Baird, TX; his grandchildren, Suzanne Estrella, Carrie Elam, Jennie Wigginton, John Estrella Jr., Lorrie Kilpatrick, Robert Estrella and James Estrella, all of Texas; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Louis Estrella of Riverside and of the late Joseph, Arthur, Anthony, Marion, Manuel, Frank, Edward, Kathleen and Angelina Estrella, Margaret Humphrey, Mary Rocha and Rose Sagermiao.

Estrella had farmed for many years and also worked as a truck driver and construction worker. He retired from Gustafson Construction.

The John Estrella family wishes to acknowledge Mrs. Terry Ferreira for all she did for him in his declining years.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 am in the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
