2 Bodies Of Kayakers Found In East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence police found two bodies Friday after looking for two men who did not return home from kayaking Thursday night.

Police said the search began around 8:40 a.m. after family members called the department to report the two men missing. According to police, one body was found in the water near Bourne Avenue.

Investigators and a marine unit from the East Providence Fire Department searched for the second man and found his body around 1 p.m.

Police have not yet identified the bodies.
