COVID-19 Closes East Providence Senior, Recreation Centers

During the closure, the senior center will transition to grab and go lunches.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — City officials closed the East Providence senior and recreation centers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Programs at both centers are canceled until at least Jan. 14, as the city has seen an increased number of center employees contracting the coronavirus.

During the closure, the senior center will transition to grab and go lunches. Home delivery of lunches will be made available for those seniors who are unable to drive to the center.

The Senior Center does not deliver lunches to residents staying outside of East Providence. Seniors, who would like to order a lunch for pickup or delivery, are asked to call 401-270-1814.
