East Bay Community Action Program Appoints New Medical Director
Jennifer Raney, MD, of Providence, RI, joins EBCAP staff as its new Medical Director

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Raney, MD, of Providence, RI, as its new Medical Director. Dr. Raney is an experienced primary care physician with a passion for community health, patient advocacy, medical education, and workforce development. She brings to her new position 20 years of expertise as both a devoted physician and a leader at health centers and multi-specialty practices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. As EBCAP’s new Medical Director, Dr. Raney will provide medical leadership and supervision to EBCAP’s medical staff, manage the daily operation of the agency’s three community health centers, and provide direct patient care services.
Before joining EBCAP, Dr. Raney was the Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Residency at Providence Community Health Center. As a Clinical Instructor of Medical Sciences at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University’s Gateways Program, she mentors master-level students in search of new pathways to medical school and careers in the health sciences. She has also taught and mentored graduate and postgraduate learners at Boston University and University of Rhode Island.
Dr. Raney received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She earned her BA in Biology from Williams College. Dr. Raney is a Board-Certified Family Physician and earned a Master of Health Care Delivery Science from Dartmouth College.
