East Providence Man Shoots At Car During I-95 Road Rage Incident: RISP
Nicholas Peguero shot at someone driving during a road rage incident on I-95 near the state offices exit in Providence, state police say.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — An East Providence man was arrested Tuesday after Rhode Island State Police said he shot at another driver in a road rage incident on Interstate 95 in Providence.
Nicholas Peguero, 30, was charged with felony assault, using a firearm when committing a crime of violence, license or permit required for carrying a pistol, drive-by shooting, and four counts of large capacity feeding devices prohibited.
On Aug. 16, state police were called to I-95 northbound at the state offices exit for a report of a shooting. State police said the shooter, later identified as Peguero, shot a round into the victim's vehicle during an act of road rage.

State police said Peguero and the victim did not know each other, and the victim was not injured.
Following an investigation, detectives identified Peguero as the shooter, state police said. Detectives executed 11 search warrants, resulting in Peguero's arrest on several charges. While searching Peguero's home, state police said they seized a 9mm handgun and four large-capacity feeding devices.

Peguero was arraigned Wednesday at Sixth Division District Court in Providence. He was ordered held on $45,000 bail and received a no-contact order with the victim.
Peguero is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 4.
