East Providence Opens Cooling Centers For Heatwave

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence has opened three cooling centers in the city in response to this week's heat wave.

Temperatures are expected to reach the 90s, with feel like temperatures over 100 degrees., from Wednesday to Saturday.

The three cooling centers are located inside the following buildings:

  • East Providence Senior Center, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday
  • Weaver Library, 41 Grove Avenue, Wednesday-Thursday 9am - 8pm and Friday/Saturday, 9am -5pm.
  • Riverside Library, 475 Bullocks Point Avenue, Monday - Thursday, 10am -6pm and Saturday, 9am - 5 p.m.
