EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Caroline has excelled in the classroom since she began school. She was a straight A student in Elementary and Middle School and was the President of the National Junior Honor Society for Edward R. Martin Middle School. During her High School career, she has challenged herself by taking multiple “Advanced Placement” and “Early Enrollment Program” college-level courses to provide her credits she can use upon entering College. She has achieved Highest Honors every quarter in High School and is now a member of the National Honor Society.
Caroline has been a member of the East Providence High School Girls Tennis over the past 3 years, playing an integral part in the school’s success last year. She was undefeated while playing doubles for the High School and was recognized by the Providence Journal with an All-Division selection. The Girls Tennis team came in second in the State in their division.
Caroline is also very active with the various clubs and organizations East Providence High School offers. Over the past 3 years, she has participated in Class Committee, Chess Club, DECA and Environmental Club. Caroline has also taken time to work with me over the years volunteering her time to pick up trash, walk for a cause and pack thanksgiving baskets for the less fortunate. She has recently committed to help create a Rotary Interact Club at the High School to give back to the Community that has been so good to us. This club will consist of at least 15 students that will have to select two projects throughout the year to help their school or community and promote leadership and embrace the concept of Rotary which is “Service above Self”.
Caroline is also a very talented artist, excelling with various types of paintings, styles and techniques. She was recently recognized at the East Providence High School Art Show with her projects: “Contour Line Still Life” using sharpie and pencil and “Watercolor Landscape” using paint and canvas. Her talent is not just in the classroom, on the court or with a brush, she is also a very talented musician playing the piano and flute. Her hobbies include visiting museums, reading, riding her bike, thrift shopping and enjoying a diet coke or iced coffee. Caroline is looking to pursue a career in Finance or Business and has been researching Universities in the Northeast that best suit her goals, dreams, and ambitions.
