Joao Rebelo, 72, Born in Azores

Joao Luis Rebelo, of John Street, East Providence, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at the Rhode Island Hospital. He was 72.

He was the husband of Maria (Marques) Rebelo. Born Nov. 4, 1940, in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Hermano and Alzira (Marques) Rebelo. 

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Paulo Rebelo, Joao Vieira Rebelo, Graca Raposo, Richardo Rebelo, Mario Rebelo and Angelica Almeida Lima; and 13 grandchildren. He was also the brother of Marie C. Botelho, Gabriela Gomes, Armando Rebelo and of the late Carlos Rebelo.

His funeral will begins today, Sept. 24, at 8 am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
