John Mancinho, 89, Retired Postal Worker, Decorated Veteran
His calling hours are today and his funeral service is Thursday from the Rebello Funeral Home in East Providence.

John Mancinho, of Goldsmith Avenue, East Providence, a retired U.S. Postal Service employee, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at the Miriam Hospital. He was 89.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Jordan) Mancinho. Born June 1, 1924, in Providence, he was a son of the late Antone and Virginia (Caetano) Mancinho.
Mancinho was an Army veteran of World War II participating in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for gallantry in action and was awarded the Purple Heart.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, he leaves his sons and daughters-in-law, John and Susan Mancinho of No. Providence and Mark and Joan Mancinho of West Greenwich; his four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Shana and Sheri; and his two great grandsons, Evan and Jordan.
He was the brother of the late Manuel Mancinho and Mary Bonsanti.
His funeral will begin Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7:45am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Burial with military honors will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 4-8pm.
