Police respond to East Providence High School after school officials discovered graffiti and vandalism referencing a threat of violence.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence police have added extra security at the high school after a report of a threat.

Police on Monday responded to East Providence High School after school officials discovered graffiti and vandalism referencing a threat of violence.

"There will be an increased presence of school resource officers and patrol officers throughout the day and during dismissal," East Providence police said in a statement. "Currently, there is no credible information to believe there is an actual threat. The safety of the students and staff is of utmost importance, and we will provide further information if it becomes available."
