EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) will host a rabbit education and adoption event at the Rumford Pet Express in East Providence.

Several of the rabbits that were recently taken in as part of a hoarding case will be on site and available for adoption.

RISPCA officials said they strive to be a resource for anyone considering adopting a rabbit at any point in the year, but felt it crucial this year as shelters across the state are seeing an uptick in small animal relinquishments and because Easter is approaching.
