Ronald R. Simmons, 84, Retired Carr-Fulflex Worker
His calling hours are today and his funeral is Friday from Perry-McStay Funeral Home in East Providence.

Ronald R. Simmons, of Riverside, East Providence, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family.He was 84.
He was the husband of Antonetta C. “Dolly” (Conti) Simmons. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joaquim and Gertrude (Maciel) Simmons.
He was an Army veteran during World WarII and served in Japan during the allied occupation. He was a communicant of St. Brendan’s Church in Riverside. He was a member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10, a life-long member of the Bristol County Elks Lodge #1860 and Past Commander of the East Providence Flotilla 702 United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He was a former Past Grand Knight, Bishop Hickey Council, Knights of Columbus and a former member St. Pius X 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Simmons worked in rubber and maintenance departments for 33 years at the former Carr-Fulflex company in Bristol before retiring in 1985.
Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Linda S. Blinn of Seekonk, four grandchildren, Alysia S. Saunders and her husband Joseph, Valerie Blinn, Ashley Blinn, William Blinn III and one great grandson, Stephen W. Saunders.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, at 9 am from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours are today from 6-8 pm.
