14 People Injured In Crash Involving Tractor Trailer, A Dozen Cars On I-195
Rhode Island State Police charge the tractor-trailer driver with driving to endanger resulting in physical injury.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — Fourteen people suffered injuries Tuesday morning after a crash on Interstate 195 westbound in East Providence involving a tractor-trailer and 12 other cars, according to Rhode Island State Police.
State police said the tractor-trailer's driver failed to stop for traffic and struck 12 vehicles. Emergency crews from the Rhode Island State Police, Massachusetts State Police, East Providence Police and Fire Departments, Providence Fire Department, Cranston Fire Department, Warren Fire Department, Seekonk police, and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation arrived on scene to help.
Thirteen people, including the tractor-trailer driver, were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries. State police said one woman suffered serious injuries, but she is expected to survive.

State police identified the tractor-trailer driver as Jon Main, 64, of Cranston. He was charged with driving to endanger resulting in physical injury and will be arraigned one he is released from the hospital.
All lanes on Interstate 195 westbound in East Providence were because of the crash. Police had the highway blocked from Exit 1 in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
