Shooting At East Providence Playground Under Investigation
East Providence police say the shooting happened at the Hull Street playground just after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence police said they are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon at the Hull Street playground.
Police were called to the playground just after 1 p.m. after a report of shots fired. Police said officers arrived on scene and found a bullet casing in the parking lot.
A short time later, Providence police found a man on Benefit Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, according to East Providence police. Police said the man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and is in stable condition.

East Providence police said they believe the injured man is the same person from the East Providence shooting. Police said there is no threat to the public.
The victim's identity has not been released. Police said the shooting remain under investigation.
