Shooting Suspect Sketch Released by East Providence Police

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—Police have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for the April 8 shooting on Dodge Street that left a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

The suspect is described as a black man between 30- and 40-years-old. He stands about 5-feet 10-inches tall and has a stocky build, police said.

The suspect might have been in a dark SUV.

The shooting caused alarm for many East Providence families, especially those with children at Silver Spring Elementary School.

As police searched for the suspect in yards near the school, a shelter-in-place order was given.

The shooting was not random, however, and police said that nobody was in danger.
