Some Salad Dressing At Aldi Gets Recalled In RI

There was a processing issue with the salad dressing that could allow dangerous bacteria to grow.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Aldi issued a recalled for one of the store's salad dressings, a spokesperson for the Rhode Island Department of Health said.

The recall is for Aldi Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing and is because of a processing issue that could allow dangerous bacteria to grow. The recalled product comes in a 12-ounce glass bottle with a best if used by date of Feb. 15, 2023, and bar code of 4099100023169.

This product was distributed to Aldi stores between Aug. 20 and Sept 10., in Rhode Island and many other states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and New York.

Health officials said as of Friday, there have been no reported illnesses related to the salad dressing. No other Aldi products are affected by this recall.

The recall was initiated after an investigation revealed the potential for the growth of clostridium botulinum, making it unsafe for consumption.

Consumers should discontinue use of this product and can return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
