Truck Crashes Into East Providence Korean Restaurant

Sun & Moon Korean Restaurant could be closed for up to 10 days, while repairs are made.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A truck crashed into a Korean restaurant after colliding with another car Wednesday morning, according to East Providence fire officials.

The crash happened just after 10 a.m. at Sun & Moon Korean Restaurant on Warren Avenue. Fire Chief Glenn Quirk said the crash forced the truck to veer into the building.

No injuries were reported. Restaurant owner Jong Lee said the restaurant was not open yet, so thankfully no one was near the front of the store when the crash happened.

The building inspector evaluated the restaurant's damage and had gas and electricity turned off. Quirk said the building sustained serious damage.

"We might be closed for seven to 10 days. I'm not sure exactly," Lee said.

Fire officials stayed on the scene until the truck was removed from the building.
