Aug. 10: No Shame in Defeat

It's Friday, people — and here are your 5 Things to Know Today for Aug. 10, 2012.

 

1. No Shame: They may be returning home earlier than they'd like, but Johnston's Junior All-Star team acquitted themselves like champs in fighting to the end against New York in the East Regional finals yesterday. After a 19-9 blowout in the first of two games, Johnston stayed even with Franklin Square through 6, but couldn't answer two late scores and dropped a 10-8 decision.

2. Just a Threat?: Yesterday's weather didn't quite live up to the forecast, which had expected rain. We'll hedge our bets and say that there will be a chance of rain through tomorrow, with a possibility of thunderstorms.
