Greenville Man Wins $65,000 with 'Ultimate Payday' Ticket

Another $40,000 winner at a local 7-Eleven has yet to claim their prize.


Payday came early for Paul Rylander of Greenville, who won $65,000 on the "Ultimate Payday" Instant Ticket Sunday. 

He'd forgotten to get milk at the market, so he went to Fast Freddie's at 471 Putnam Pike in Greenville. While there, he also chose to play the Instant Ticket.  He couldn't believe his eyes when he discovered the big win.  He kept thinking it was mistake. His first purchase will be two matching recliners, he said.

No one hit the estimated $126 million Mega Millions® jackpot or the estimated $191 million PowerBall® jackpot over the weekend. However, one lucky Rhode Island Lottery player is holding a winning $40,00 PowerBall® PowerPlay® ticket.

The winning ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a standard payout of $10,000. However, the winner added the Power Play® feature for an extra dollar which increased the prize to $40,000. The prize has yet to be claimed.

The Smithfield 7-Eleven at 972 Douglas Ave. sold the winning ticket.

Tomorrow's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $139 million. Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $222 million.
