JOHNSTON, RI — A North Providence man won $50,000 on a scratch ticket he bought in Johnston, the Rhode Island Lottery said Tuesday.

The man won playing the $10 "50 Years" instant ticket game and bought the ticket at the Cumberland Farms at 663 Killingly St.

All the "50 Years" games offer a special opportunity for five winners to be drawn to attend an anniversary event on Dec. 19, where all five will play an anniversary game with a chance to win $1 million. How they play the anniversary game, and what decisions they make during the game will determine the prize they win — prizes include $10,000, $50,000, $100,000, $500,000, and $1,000,000.
