Annual fundraising campaign through August 16 at participating Taco Bell, KFC and The Paper Store locations across New England

JOHNSTON, RI – Now through August 16, customers at participating Taco Bell®, KFC® and The Paper Store locations throughout New England will be invited to contribute $1, $3, or $5 to the Jimmy Fund’s “Strike Out Cancer” pin-up campaign. In return for their contributions, customers will receive a baseball pin-up on which they can write their name, or the name of a friend or loved one. The pin-ups will be displayed in restaurants and stores, showing customers how easy it is to make a difference in the fight against cancer. At participating Taco Bell and KFC restaurants, customers who make a contribution of $3 or more will receive a coupon sheet, featuring deals from Taco Bell, KFC, The Paper Store, and more! The Paper Store has every location as well as their online store participating in this year’s campaign.

The participating locations include: the Taco Bell located at 1379 Atwood Avenue and the KFC at 1477 Atwood Avenue.

Taco Bell has generously supported the Jimmy Fund since 1999. In 2006, KFC joined their efforts, and in 2011 The Paper Store stepped up to the plate to be a part of “Strike Out Cancer,” all working together to help the program raise more than $2.3 million. When customers purchase a baseball pin-up, 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the Jimmy Fund, which supports cancer research and patient care at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

“We are thrilled to take part in the fight to ‘Strike Out Cancer’ again this year and we are looking forward to another successful summer,” said Roger Lockwood, chairman of Lockwood/McKinnon Company, a Taco Bell franchisee and a trustee of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. “With total program funds exceeding $2.3 million, the baseball pin-up campaign exemplifies how even a seemingly small donation can truly make an impact on finding cures for cancer.”
