Labor Day 2017: What's Open, What's Closed In Rhode Island

It's a federal holiday, so there's no mail delivery, and government buildings are closed.

Although many people will enjoy a day off, most stores will be open. But government services shut down, meaning Town and City halls will be closed. Meals on Wheels also will be closed.

Trolley and regular buses run by the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will operate on a Sunday/Holiday service schedule.

Beaches: Open, but charging weekend parking rates.
RIPTA Bus Service: A limited holiday schedule is in effect.

RITBA E-Z Pass Service: Closed.

Town/City Hall: closed, with no meetings held Monday.
Trash & Recycling: Most communities will be on a one-day delay for trash and recycling collections this week, with no collection Monday.
Senior Centers: closed
Public Libraries: closed

Schools: closed

Banks: closed

Restaurants, Fast-Food and Pubs: Most establishments typically open on Mondays are open today, however some may have special holiday hours.

Liquor Stores: Most are open.
