SCARECROW FESTIVAL TO BENEFIT DYSAUTONOMIA SUPPORT NETWORK
The first annual RI Scarecrow Festival will take place on October 29 from 1 to 5 pm, at Johnston Memorial Park. This free community event has something for everyone: activities include a scarecrow contest, pumpkin racing, celebrity scarecrows, a craft fair with over 40 vendors, and an Oz themed fun run. There will also be live entertainment, local food trucks, balloon artists, special guests, raffle prizes, and much more.
Event organizers encourage all to enter the scarecrow contest. The contest is a fun opportunity for individuals or families and schools to construct a scarecrow to be displayed at the RI Scarecrow Festival.
Create a scarecrow that resembles someone famous, that is traditional, whimsical, artistic or unusual. Promote your school or hobby, or simply indulge your creative side. All submissions must be family-friendly. Scarecrow entries are free and prizes will be awarded to one winner in each age category: Children
(12 & under), Teen (13-18), Family/Adult (18 & older). For more details go to www.RIScarecrowFestival.com.
