RI Woman Drove 97 MPH Before Hitting State Police Cruiser In Johnston: RISP
Rhode Island State Police say Eneye Ayeni, 24, struck a police cruiser on Route 6, while officers were investigating a previous crash.

JOHNSTON, RI — A Pawtucket woman was arrested Friday after Rhode Island State Police said she injured a state trooper after crashing into their cruiser earlier this month.
Eneye Ayeni, 24, was charged on an arrest warrant with driving to endanger resulting in physical injury. State police said the arrest came after an investigation into a crash involving a state police cruiser on Route 6 in Johnston on Feb. 13.
According to state police, Ayeni was driving her Honda Accord 97 mph when she struck the back of the cruiser on Route 6 eastbound. State police said she lost control before hitting the cruiser along the right shoulder of the highway.

State police said the cruiser was stopped, while officers were investigating another crash in the area.
A state trooper was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with minor injuries and was later released, state police said.

Ayeni was arraigned before a justice of the peace at Rhode Island State Police Headquarters and released with a future Third District Court date.
