Suspect In Custody: Mass State Police
Threats against police led to a lockdown at Scituate, Ma schools. The Massachusetts State Police assisted and say the suspect is in custody.

SCITUATE, MA --Threats against police led to a lockdown at Scituate, MA schools on the South Shore. The Massachusetts State Police assisted and say the suspect is in custody.
He has been identified as Douglas Simonovitch, of Oxford, Mass., in the Worcester area.
The Scituate police said the incident started around 8:30 a.m. when they received a call from a woman in distress. She told officers she had been driving on Route 3A, and her boyfriend jumped out of the car near the public safety building. He ran into the woods. He might be suicidal, she feared.

Police were able to talk to him, but he allegedly made threats against the officers.
Chief Michael Stewart said the roads were closed and the schools went into lockdown while police tried to take the 46-year-old man into custody. The FBI, Metropolitan Law Enforcement SWAT, Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local police collaborated on the effort which lasted for several hours.
