Middletown's Cutest Couple Is....

Love is on Middletown Patch!

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we asked Middletown lovebirds to upload pictures to our cutest couples gallery.    We then asked area editors as well as readers to pick their favorite couple for this Valentine’s Day.

Kathy and Don were a popular pick among Patch editors across the state.

“I have to give the vote to Kathy and Don, who not only share a birthday, but got married on the same day — 3/3,” That's got to count for tons of cuteness — celebrating everything at once!” said Joseph Hutnak, editor of Bristol-Warren Patch.  

Smithfield Patch editor Robert Borkowski agreed with Joe’s pick.

“Have to go with Kathy and Don - Married on coinciding birthdays, OK...but love the crowns!” said Rob.

Amber Costa and Tim Mendonca who met in 6th grade at Gaudet Middle School got several votes on Patch.

Mimi Capps voted for Patti Clarke and Chris Blacklock, a couple she said survived the Station Nightclub Fire shortly after they started dating and are still together strong.    

However one couple gained the most "cute votes" by both Patch editors and residents.  The final verdict for Middletown’s cutest couple went to...(drum roll)... Nate and Lisa!  

"They met so young and after 22 years appear to still be head over heels for each other. I hope I'm that lucky!" remarked Coventry Patch editor Lauren Costa.

The couple met during Lisa's freshman year at Middletown High School in 1990 and were married in 1997.

"Wonderful 'kids', wrote wrote Valerie McClymonds on Patch.  "Funny and cute. Kind, helpful, and all the rest of the Boy/Girl Scout adjectives!  They are the tops!"
