Despite that the Chinese calendar has designated 2013 to the snake, the Potter League for Animals has overruled the animal for Newport County. This year has been declared The Year of the Cat by the shelter. Â
Throughout the year, the Potter League will address various feline issues and challenges as well as encourage residents to adopt a cat.Â

Every week, beginning Monday Feb. 4, one lucky cat will be featured for a discounted adoption price of $20.13 each week. The featured cat will be available for that price through Sunday at 4 p.m.
On Monday, the Potter League announced the first cat of the week is Rosemary. According to the Potter League's Facebook page, she is 9-years-old, gorgeous, friendly, loving, independent, loves chin scratches, doesn't care for other cats, enjoys adults, lounging and catnip.
Are you interested in adopting Rosemary? If so, call at 846-8276 or stop by the shelter.
