Here are the (more than) Five Things for Monday, October 1, 2012:

And we’re back! I’m done with my vacation, so expect to see the production of the site tick back up, from a level of three to six items of last week to seven to 10 items this week. I would like to say that I did something really cool, but as most of you that ran into me at Brewed Awakenings can attest to, I mostly just putted around town and caught up on my rest. (Also, a lot of quality time with the cat was had.)

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s World Vegetarian Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know!

Shocking that he would have improper research like that! Happy 67th birthday to non-Jewish Major League Baseball legend Rod Carew! Yes, he’s not Jewish – This might shock you, but Adam Sandler got it wrong.
