BLOOD! The Rhode Island Blood Center is hosting blood drives from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today in the atriums of the University of Rhode Island Memorial Union.
Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events beyond school sports today, given that it’s Day of the First Public Appearance of the Slovak National Council. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).
“When I was a boy I was told that anybody could become president – I’m beginning to believe it.” – Clarence Darrow. Here are today’s government meetings:
- The Narragansett Pension Board meets at 9 a.m. at town hall.
- The Narragansett School Committee meets at 7 p.m. at town hall.
- The South Kingstown Zoning Board of Review meets at 7 p.m. at town hall.

Shucks! On this day in 1961, Betty and Barney Hill claimed they saw a mysterious craft in the sky, and it tried to abduct them.
You’ll always have Saturday Night Live, at least. Happy 49th birthday to Cheri Oteri!
