Detour! According to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, the right lane of Route 108 southbound from Main Street to Charles Street will be closed for maintenance from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Not about telephones, so don’t bother Beyonce. The Rotary Club of Wakefield meets at Liliana’s Italian Restaurant at 12:15 p.m. They meet every week, you know, so swing by for fellowship, lunch and a guest speaker.

BLOOD! The Rhode Island Blood Center is hosting blood drives from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today in the atriums of the University of Rhode Island Memorial Union.

- The Narragansett Affordable Housing Committee and Trust meets at 8:30 a.m. at town hall.
- Narragansett Municipal Court is being held at 6 p.m. at town hall.
- The Narragansett Zoning Board of Review meets at 7 p.m. at town hall.
Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Independence Day for South Ossetia. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren.
